Clover Foundation was founded by Francisco and Begoña Gómez on August 27th, 1985 in Texas as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
The organization was originally incorporated under the name of the Mass Foundation. Six months later, on March 4th, 1986, an amendment was adopted to change the name to Clover Foundation.
Among the many projects that the Clover Foundation has supported through the years are: the Medical School of the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City, the Campodonico Award in Peru for Social Services, the University of Piura in Peru, and the Montefalco School for Girls in Mexico.
It is interesting to note that Francisco and Begoña were never able to have children of their own. But the love and interest with which this couple followed and supported the projects of the Clover Foundation was an inspiration to many who knew them.
“The Montefalco School was Begoña’s child. She died at the age of 91, yet she never missed a single meeting. Every two weeks for years she attended the board of director’s meetings. She always came on time and was always interested. She always asked questions. She made us understand the transcendence of this school. I feel she wanted to transmit to us her desire that, when she couldn’t be with us any more, we would carry on the mission of loving all the girls and the School the way she did. On my part at least, with her example, she succeeded.”
